Local College Students LIVE UNITED

Fox Valley United Way is proud to partner with the Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action at Aurora University and Waubonsee Community College to provide students with opportunities to make a difference for their neighbors in need.  We know that community service helps students apply classroom theory to real world needs, and has been proven to lead to new perspectives about volunteerism, philanthropy and how one person can make a difference in Aurora University Wackerline Center Volunteersthe world.

On March 24, about 100 Aurora University students, including Dunham Scholars, assisted with maintenance and landscape projects undertaken at the Fox Valley Park District, Mutual Ground and the new Aurora Interfaith Food Panty location.  Eighty-five Waubonsee Community College Gustafson Scholars participated in similar efforts at the Joseph Corporation and around the railroad viaducts in downtown Aurora on April 20.  A tremendous amount of work was accomplished by very committed students!  Many thanks to both schools!
