You can participate in Kane County Community Health Assessment through online survey. For the first time, results of the Kane County Community Health Assessment are available online in a webinar format. Check-out the easy to use webinar that provides new, updated information on the overall health of our community, a progress report on our last community health improvement plan and 9 recommended key opportunities for community health improvement over the next five years.
To access the webinar, please visit www.kanehealth.com/survey [1]. After viewing the webinar, an online survey will be available for you to provide your input about which of the 9 issues are the most critical to address. We want to hear from you!
A comprehensive Community Health Assessment is conducted every five years to identify the top health priorities in our community. Results of the assessment are used to develop a Community Health Improvement Plan that helps agencies make Kane County a healthier place to live, work and play. The survey will be available until Friday Nov. 4.
This year, the health department collaborated with the five hospitals in the county, the INC Board, United Way of Elgin and the Fox Valley United Way to jointly fund the assessment. The Northern Illinois University Public Opinion Laboratory was contracted to survey over 2,000 adults and 420 children about their health.
The Health Department and its partners are also currently hosting Community Cafés – asking residents what changes would help make Kane County a healthier place. If you would like to participate, please visit us at www.kanehealth.com/iplan [2] or contact Jackie Forbes at (630) 208-5155. Information from the assessment, the online survey and the community meetings will be used to help inform the development of the Kane County Community Health Improvement Plan to be released in early 2012.
