2015 Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive

Thank you for jumping into action to make this year’s Souper Bowl of Caring food drive a success.

On Saturday, January 31, over one hundred volunteers joined in the huddle as we attempted to tackle hunger at various grocery stores around the Fox Valley area. Jewel-Osco and Prisco’s Family Market had home field advantage and fans of all ages came out to show their support for our local food pantries.

Many eligible receivers carried food or monetary donations into the end zone at Aurora Interfaith and Kendall County Food Pantries.

Cash donations earned an extra point! Any donation of $1.00 gave the food pantries the ability to purchase $8.00 worth of food at the food bank.

This year, cash donations alone totaled $7,883. This means that Aurora Interfaith and Kendall County Food Pantries will be able to purchase over $63,000 worth of food. More than 3,200 pounds of food was also collected at the different locations. That’s over a 40% increase from last year’s totals! A special thank you to our dedicated fans who volunteered to tackle hunger and help us with the Souper Bowl of Caring food drive.

Special thanks to Old Second National Bank and the Aurora Noon Lions Club, who contributed $553.00 and $500.00 respectivley to the total.  We appreciate their support and generousity!
